The DOK Co-Pro Market features 35 international documentary- and animated documentary projects in development and matches project holders with new partners for co-production, financing and distribution. The Co-Pro Market expands networks and creates fruitful opportunities for new creative documentaries by exploring potential partnerships.

Over two days, DOK Industry organizes 850+ curated one-on-one meetings and plenty of informal networking opportunities in a friendly and welcoming setting.  

In addition, partner delegations are invited to the Co-Pro Market Open Programme which takes place alongside the main market activities. The programme comprises informal networking events and discussions led by international experts who share practical knowledge on the international market and co-production.

The Call for Applications for the Co-Pro Market 2024 is open from 15 May to 15 July.

The 20th DOK Co-Pro Market is now open for applications.

We are looking for your ambitious, creative, author-driven documentary and animated documentary projects.

Feature-length projects that aspire a theatrical release, one-offs and creative series are all encouraged to apply.

We only accept projects that are in development or early stages of production. Projects in post-production are not eligible.

The deadline for applications is 15 July 2024.

Please find all relevant information on participating with a project and how to submit in the Co-Pro Market Entry Guidelines. For any further questions, please check our FAQ. The application takes place via myDOK, you’ll need to login (or to register for a new account) to access the entry form.

The teams of 35 international documentary projects in development/early production are joining to meet potential co-producers, financiers, commissioning editors, distributors and sales agents. 
More than 175 professionals participate in the DOK Co-Pro Market, including 90+ international decision makers.

Producers without projects looking for new projects for their slates, stay tuned for a separate entry form that’s coming soon!

What?

Over 850 curated one-on-one meetings bringing together project holders with potential co-producers, co-financiers, distributors and sales representatives preceded by an online workshop for the selected project teams as a warm up and preparation of their participation and to share inquiries & expectations.

When and Where?

The 20th DOK Co-Pro Market takes place 28–29 October as part of the 67th DOK Leipzig Film Festival and is located in Leipzig’s picturesque city center with industry venues and cinemas in walking distance.

The online workshop will be held via zoom early September 2024.

Awards presented at the most recent 2023 edition were:

The Saxon Award for the Best Documentary Project by a Female Director

came with a 5,000 € prize and was sponsored by the Saxon State Ministry for Science, Culture and Tourism (SMWK).

The Current Time TV Award

along with 2,000 €, went to a project from Central or Eastern Europe. 

Unifrance Doc Award

along with subtitling services sponsored by TitraFilm and a Unifrance membership for its French producer.
